What is ReadMyTable for?
ReadMyTable is an OCR tool (enhanced by Azure AI) designed to convert scanned hardcopy notes into structured files including Excel, Word, and Markdown, saving users time and effort in data entry and information extraction.
Why did we suddenly wake up one day and decided to make it? Well, as one of us worked on a construction site, and we observed the following:
- Notes and quantities are taken down by hand into a table printed on a sheet of paper
- Some poor intern back at the site office spends up to 200 manhours putting that back into excel
- Current OCR tools can indeed have the capability of converting handwriting into word, but not a lot known to be good at converting handwriting in a table into a excel.
So, we decided to take matters into our own hands.
ReadMyTable’s service can support around 300 languages for printed text, while 12 languages for handwritten text. The 12 languages are English, Chinese Simplified, French, German, Italian, Thai, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, and Arabic.
